Aloha Friday - Kidney Stone edition

It's Aloha Friday & that means it's question time.

So I have kidney stones, but the pain hasn't set in yet.  The anticipation is driving me nuts, but the time is giving me a chance to find something...anything...to make sure it doesn't happen.  Last night a friend messaged me on Facebook with a post from eHow.com - How to Dissolve Kidney Stones With Coke.  I Coke & I hate pain, so I figured I'd give it a shot.  So far so good.

That got me thinking about home remedies.  If something like that really works, why didn't my doctor tell me about it?  Here's my Aloha Friday question for you.

What is a home remedy you swear by that a doctor would never prescribe?

Lost In Translation

Here's a fun little website called BlahblahFish that takes a phrase, translates it into any of a number of languages, then translates that back into English.  There's probably a good illustration about connecting or communication somewhere here.
For instance, here are some translation translations of the phrase, "Please stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop."

Italian - It remains I pray put till that the turn does not come to a complete arrest.
Spanish - He remains based please until the stroll comes to a complete shutdown.
Hungarian - Please stick seated whilst the she's riding comes yield one supplements stops.
Korean - Burning, when this is complete stopping until, seat and stay.

How about the phrase, "Earn the right to be heard." Some of these are downright insightful.

Italian - Gain the right to be felt.
Welsh - Gain ' group right to be heard.
Japanese - Profit do the right to be heard.
Filipino - Earn the right toward possible hear.
